Based in Sacramento, CA, USA
Hello there! I’m Matt, a producer, editor, and director of photography based in Sacramento, CA. I’m also handy with graphics and animation. I also have a 24-year-old turtle named Sheldon.
I am drawn to the storytelling aspect of video production. As a capable director of photography and editor, I enjoy shooting from the perspective of an editor, considering flow and storytelling throughout the shoot.
I have been able to focus this skill through my freelance work with ATTN:, creating numerous viral journalistic pieces that have attracted over 20 million views across a variety of social platforms. I covered many topics such as Native American issues near Sacramento, North Korean refugees in Los Angeles, and accessibility issues in San Francisco. Notably, I have also collaborated with Emmy Award-Winning journalist Joe Rubin. I have travelled throughout the West Coast for a variety of clients to tell stories of social change, politics, food culture, non-profits, artists and musicians, and local government.
Video has been my passion, hobby, and career for nearly 20 years. It began when I was 16 years old and my photography teacher pulled me aside to ask me to learn the ropes to start a new video program at my high school in Yuba City. I jumped in head first and never looked back. Sheldon was only 6 years old at the time.
